"Christ has risen" in correctional school
Hristos voskres!
"Christ has risen' - this is the traditional easter greeting here in Russia. Whoever hears these words has to answer: 'He has risen, indeed!'. MIllions of Russians were proclaiming this fact yesterday as we celebrated easter in Russia. Holidays like this are always a good occasion to share 'officially' about Christ. So Friday our Kids club team packed up the van and drove to the nearby correctional school. We have been there before a few times and it seems that the Director is pleased with us, even though she knows we are firm believers. Lena and I were dressed up as crazy scientists, trying to figure out the meaning of easter. One of the highlights was when the funny professor (Nathan) showed the resurrecting power through the 'Mentons - Coke - explosion'. Jesus has risen, and he is alive even today - that's why we can be friends with him. It is awesome how we can share the gospel in a governmental institution like that school; officially that is not tolerated! Each of the Kids receive a box of crayons and a 'Jesus has risen'-booklet. Praise God for opportunities like this!
The next day we did the same program in our Kids club and we had a few parents joining us. It's so hard to get the parents involved. But we don't want to give up on that!
