Vladivostok

Hey!
I made it to Vladivostok. It really seems like the end of the earth because it is surrounded by the ocean. I am excited to be here, it is an interesting place! At the same time I ask God over and over again the famous question: 'Is it really you, Lord?'. I can't see the full picture yet, so I have to decide to trust God again and again.
We also have the Canadian Hockey-DTS leaders here with us. They came for a few days to check out opportunities for outreaches in the future. My friend Masha and I have spent much time with them in ice rings and talked to Hockey coaches. We got many good connections and it God works out great connections.
I am still here for two more weeks before we continue our trip to Irkutsk.
Some Vladivostok impressions so far:

  • Internet connection here is much worse than in Perm
  • It doesn't seem like Russian winter here and I wish I had brought other shoes:-)
  • Groceries are about 20% more expensive here
  • There are many hills here, its a constant up and down
  • Traffic is worse than Perm, there aren't many lights, so the drivers figure it all out themselves
  • Almost all the steering wheels are on the right side
  • No big shopping malls
  • at least one decent coffe-shop:-)
