An Unnamed Country
Back in November 2 staff from YWAM Rostov headed out to a country. A country where neither had ever been before, we will not be telling you the name of this country so as to not endanger those who live and work there.
If you had told her she would be visiting this country 2 years ago she would have said “No Way!” Why? Because she was scared, there was a lot of fear associated with this country. Since that time though, she met people from there and the countries surrounding; she heard about their lives, struggles and faith in God. She was inspired… she started to pray for them and God gave her the opportunity to go!
They were there for 10 days. 10 days of smelling, tasting, seeing, hearing and touching the people and culture first hand. She found the people warm, open, friendly generous and hospitable. Even in riding the taxi there was no lack of conversation. There was such beauty in the people and even in the buildings surrounding them.
They went to meet Christians and to see the work they are a part of. They went to encourage them, build relationship and to see how in the future they could partner along side of them. They got to meet up with old friends and make new ones. They got to be involved with the churches and ministries. They took every opportunity to share and to get involved with what was going on around them during their short visit.
One of her highlights was getting to going to a youth gathering. She was impressed by how many young men there were, she felt blessed to be there among the future leaders!
She was impressed at how real and genuine their faith was. Even in the midst of persecution they choose to love and follow Jesus. Under that threat they had a deeper fellowship with one another then she had ever experienced.
Would she go back? YES!
Please pray …
Pray that God would provide all that they need to provide for their families and ministries.
Pray against persecution of Christians but also that through their suffering they would be strengthened and encouraged.
Pray for protection on the Christians and their families. That God would give them wisdom in how to minister and serve.
Pray that people wanting to serve there long term would get the opportunity and that they visa laws would change!
