from Vladivostok
[I decided not to write this blog from the Moscow airport, so its not becoming boring to you]. Yesterday I arrived in Vladivostok (with a long layover in Moscow of course). My friend Masha picked me up at the airport. On the way back to town we stopped at the international school to pick some one else up. Since we were already there, we had tea with the directors wife. She asked me when I can start teaching at their school... I told her that I will think about it:-)
Then we went to the apartment Masha agreed to rent and met the landlady. Before I took my things out of the bag we cleaned the place a bit. The kitchen is in the hallway, together with the neighbors one. We were promised hot water sometime in the future...We will see. The main thing is that we have a place to stay and a roof that doesn’t drup (the toilet does though). Then we went to visit some friends of a friend from Perm. They are missionaries from America, now working in Vladivostok. It was so good to meet them and share about our desires for this city. I love networking in the body of Christ.
This morning we went to register me at the local immigration office. Now I have to go somewhere to find internet connection so I can send this off. { It actually took my almost four day to find internet here!!! that's why it's posted so late}.
We are getting ready for our Summer project, the ‘Mission Bridge’. Saturday night we will have our first meeting with the participants. There is lots to do and prepare. By the way: its really cold here and for tomorrow we are promised a taifun. i hope our interesting building will stand firm during that!
Ok, that’s it for now.
