living in community

We are already in week 3 of the DTS. Crazy how time flies. September 19th was a historic day: the very first DTS in Vladivostok started. Four staff, eight students, 5 nationalities, one dog - all living in a little house in the suburb of Vladivostok.

God is doing great things - it never ceases to amaze me how He has put this group together. We all have a desire to learn more about God, follow him with all we have and make Him know here in Vladivostok and where ever else God lead us.

Living together in small space is interesting. The other day I brushed my teeth and when i put the toothbrush back on the shelf I realized that it was not mine...Most of us sleep with ear plugs, because people make all kind of noises during the night. It’s funny how some people eat mayonnaise with everything and think it is weird that others eat cheese with jam. Since we have a small house we have our daily staff meeting in the banya - which is a Russian sauna - the only place where you can sit and talk without being heard by others.

Tonight we have ‘Mission Night’ about India: we cook indian food, learn about its culture and have a time of prayer for that country. India is one of the places we will go on outreach - after the first part of outreach in China we send one team to India and the other to Myanmar.
